1st of October.<br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;"><br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">The mass exodus....<br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">The 1st of October is a national holiday which means every one returns to their one town. Most expats escape china and the crowds and go almost anywhere other than china..... Us.... We decided to go and see Beijing.<br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">The roads where quiet first thing in the morning 6:30. My husband insisted that this was the most busiest day on the roads. The toll roads where all open and therefore free. There was a build up of cars and taxis as we approached the Nanjing South Train station. It wasn't too crazy just a normal for Chinese standards. We then put our baggage through the X-ray machine and we headed up the escalators. We had about 8 escalators to choose from. We where the only westerner's around. <br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">We felt very Chinese. <br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">It really is amazing how they get so many people organized to wait for the Train and then the gates open everyone files through the gates, down the stairs and then we all wait patiently by the number on the floor of the platform that coincides with out carriage number. Everyone waits patiently. The train arrives and the door opens one meter from the number on the floor. Everyone on the platform huddles around the door wanting to get their seats. We have to wait for the passengers to get off first.... This doesn't always happen on the Metro (local Train) there is usually a push onto the Train while the others are trying to get off.<br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;"><br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">On the train.... Still not a westerner in sight....<br style="color: rgb(33, 33, 33); font-family: wf_segoe-ui_normal, 'Segoe UI', 'Segoe WP', Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.3333px; line-height: normal;">
