Fish at the Beijing Aquarium.
Today was our last day in China and the end of our honeymoon. We spent the day at the zoo. We took the metro from our hotel to the zoo. There was just a mass of people outside of the ticket windows and we had to push and shove to make our way to the front to get tickets. We also opted to buy the tickets to see the pandas and visit the aquarium which is located in the zoo but a much higher admission price. Once inside the zoo we realized that it was really big. We went through the panda exhibit and then on to the reptiles which took a long time. We sat down for a rest out side and we became an attraction with everyone staring at us as they went by. We went through the rest of the zoo and by the time we decided to eat the restaurants in the zoo were closed so we got some hotdogs on sticks from a stand. We then headed to the aquarium. There was almost no one in the aquarium. The zoo cost was like $2 and the aquarium was an additional $15. Its too bad no one

was there because it was much better than the zoo. The tanks were pristine and there were tons of different fish and a whale and dolphins. We walked through another part of the zoo on our way back to the front gate and saw some wolves in a room with three sides of windows and a concrete floor. There was nothing else in the cage and nothing to play with or do. The poor wolves were throwing themselves against the windows at the people tapping on the windows. Pretty sad. We caught the metro back to our hotel and looked up restaurants. We decided to go to one of the famous Peking Duck restaurants which was a lot of fun. We took the metro and got off where we thought it was and low and behold it was right next to the exit. The place was a big open room and they carved the duck at your table if they could get to it. We were glad we chose this for our last meal in China. Back at the hotel the receptionist booked us a cab for the next morning to the airport because our flight left before the metro and airport train were running.
