The next few days were spent with my German friends going between markets, arty hang outs and bars. On my last day in Beijing Goetz took us to an outlet mall before stopping in a restaurant near the train station for a great farewell meal. We ate so much and had such a good time that I made the train Xian by skin of my teeth, Goetz was doubling the speed limit as we took a wrong turn and had to get there quickly. We said hurried goodbyes and decided we would try to catch up in Hong Kong, I ran to the station, made my way through the metal detectors and ran as fast as I could carrying a 15kg pack on my back, another 5 on my front and a carrier bag full of snacks in my hand. I terrified old women and children as i ran but I had no option. I got on the train and by the time I sat down the train was already in motion. I had 12 fun filled hours in front of me.
