One of the main shopping areas in Beijing is Wangfujing Street. This street is a pedestrian walkway with a series of shops and shopping malls on both sides of the street. A must visit is the Oriental Plaza, one of largest shopping malls in Beijing. The plaza is three stories and goes from Wangfujing Street to Dongei Dajie. The bottom of the plaza the whole floor is dedicated to restaurants and a few food halls. Any type of food you want to eat, as well as a massive food hall which prepares a variety of fresh food. The only draw back is nothing here is in English so if you are game, you have to just point and order.

The bottom of Wangfujing Street takes you to Dongchang’an Jie. If you take a left at the bottom of the street you can walk to the Tian’anmen square. You can also take the subway from Wangfujing to Tian’anmen square.

We took the subway quite a bit in Beijing; it was very easy and convenient. We were able to go around Bejing quite easily and explore on our own.
