I woke up expecting to be rough as hell and have a mouth like a badgers arse but far from it. I was just dehydrated. Today I would make up for the destruction of brain cells with a walk around the cultural sites of Tiananmen square and the Forbidden city. I set off in the direction of the Square. Tiananmen square is much bugger that you may expect. There are large buildings all around including a museum and of course statues to the uprising of the communist part. Just through the gate are the Forbidden city. The seat of power in china for generations. The city has temples, gardens and alleyways that seem to run for miles. While the city is vast one can’t help feel sorry for the emperors that were confined here in this prison, especially the last emperor who was forced out by the Japanese into a world he could have only dreamt of.
