Hi all.

Had a bit of a lie in today as I didn’t sleep much last night, think it was the jet lag catching up (that and Russell’s snoring!!). Legs are a bit sore from our Great Wall trip but well worth it. Planned to do something different today but because it’s the 60th anniversary of the PRC on 1st Oct, we were advised to go to the Forbidden City as it will be closed tomorrow.

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty and consists of lots of palace buildings. Spent around 4 hours walking around with our trusty audio guides! Quite an eye opener finding out about randy young emperors and their many concubines (mistresses)! Russell has decided that he should take a few of these also after we are married! 

The smog is horrendous here today and I have a bit of a cold starting! Feel our life expectancy could shorten if we stay here any longer than 7 days, which is a shame as it is a beautiful city with loads to see.

Heading out shortly for some grub, everything tastes amazing but we need to make sure we go places where the menu has pictures as we are a bit rusty with our Chinese! Lol. Russell has been quite adventurous from his usual chicken dishes (mainly because he doesn’t know what he is eating!) hee hee.

Hope all is well back home, take care.

Lots of Love Anne & Russ xxx

Hey Frankie boy, thought you would like the sunnies. Now we can fight over who looks more like Eric Estrada! ha ha. We will have to play Estrada or Nada for the concubines! Keep up the fellowship of the films - Gandalf the Brown will be back soon! :-)
