So we headed back to the mainland (again) on Thursday to spend xmas there. We had booked xmas eve and xmas day in a bungalow on the beach with a sea view, decided to treat ourselves a bit for xmas 😊

Checked in to the bungalow and relaxed there for a bit on a little terrace with moon chairs and a hammock over looking the sea. Perfect. Finally ventured out to grab some lunch, a nice stroll along the beach, since we had gone the tide seemed to have lowered a little as there hasn't been any more rain for a few days, so you could almost walk along the beach now. Had a nice afternoon hearing a few xmas songs playing around. Loads of westerners dressed up as santa ( they must be soooo hot) doing promotions for the bars for xmas eve parties. Seen our friend Liam from the bar who we met before our trip. Nice afternoon getting all excited about xmas eve and xmas day 😊

After chilling out for a bit and refreshing ourselves for the evening we headed back along the beach for some dinner and to start our xmas eve celebrations! Had a yummy bbq dinner with what we thought were cocktails for 50 cents, so spoiled ourselves and had 4 each relaxing by the sea for a few hours, bit surprised when the bill came along and the cocktails were in fact 1.50, the board was a bit deceiving with the little 1 which we didnt notice. Not too bad just an extra $8 on the bill 😞

Anyway after that we headed after to Dolphin Shack, the bar we had been in before where Liam was working and spent the rest of the night there. Had a great evening, met some random people, danced a little, they played a few xmas songs at midnight. We headed back about 4am but walked past another bar called Nap House where we bumped into some others we met before our trip to the Island so ended up staying there for a few more drinks and finally got to bed about 6am! Such a good night though 😊

Xmas day we had a long lie in since we hadnt got to bed till late, finally ventured out about 2.30pm in time for a our xmas dinner we had booked at one of the restaurants on the beach. Was a bit more expensive than our usual dinners but had prawn cocktail starter, roast turkey with allllll the trimmings, 2 desserts (!), tea/coffee and a spirit and mixer,, all for about 12 pound, but hey its xmas afterall so why not 😊 Had a lovely afternoon sitting there for a few hours right by the sea listening to loads of xmas songs and talking about everyone at home and what our families were up to. Later that day we made our xmas phone calls home to the family, was soo nice to speak to everyone 😊 Although kinda sad 😞 Had some fun with the webcam too seeing everyone.

Think tonight will be a chilled one as we are both a bit tender still from last night plus we have a bus tomorrow at 7.30am to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

Happy Christmas everyone! And for those that have the snow hope you are enjoying a white christmas!

Lots of Love
