Cleaner room, bright funky colours, happy Bwooie :)
Day 2 started off a little late. We checked out of Green Garden Home at 05:00 am, moved our stuff to Mandalay Inn and hoped to catch the sunrise.

Unfortunately, our little bicycle gave us some problems. To cut the story short, no sunrise for the day 😞 We walked halfway towards Angkor again, and got on a tuktuk which took us to Ta Prohm (Favourite temple# 2!)

The silk cotton trees and strangler figs intermingled on the ruins provides the temple an excellent atmosphere for exploration (probably the reason it was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider?) I can't figure out the exact words to give it justice, the pictures say it all. Major restoration works underway here, as you can see, nature's impact is both holding the collapsing ruins and destructive at the same time.

Next up, Preah Kahn - which not only functioned as a temple, but also a university and monastery. Pretty complex site, again with many corridors (de javu!) Great for exploring, but not necessary to climb into every nook and cranny. By this point, temple overdose was almost looming. They were all starting to look the same. Enough temples

Strange squashed bugs on the sidewalk. Initially thought they were squashed fruit/seeds of sort. Ergh!
for the first half. Hehe..

We tried to fix up a deal with our tuktuk driver to bring us back to Angkor Wat for sunset later in the afternoon. He would not budge, and so we told him we would cycle back there later from town, which made him laugh :P

After Preah Kahn, we headed back to our guesthouse to rest. I don't remember how long we slept, we woke up for lunch and lazed around a bit. After fixing the the bicycle and confident that it will be able to take (us both!) through the entire journey, we headed back to Angkor (We even smuggled out a towel from the room to use as a cushion on the passenger's seat hee hee) Boy was it a buttaching ride. But I was also thanking the high heavens that I do not have balls (Sorry Eugene...)

And so we arrived at Angkor Wat. In time for the sunset. Which also marks our Heroic Feat #3 - Cycling To Angkor Wat 😊

The rest of the evening, we rested some more, went to look for food and got our bus tickets to Phnom Penh the next

Nevermind that we missed sunrise, we have arrived at Ta Phrom!
morning.

And so ends our last day in Siem Reap.
