Temples of Angkor By

Stacey and Keith After a 7 hour delay, we finally arived at Siem Reap, the base for visiting the Angkor Temples. It was a nice little tourist town with cheap bars, excellent restaurants and nice guesthouses which are a treat after Malaysia - concrete walls and spring mattresses we welcome you back!
We hired a tuktuk for the day with our driver Wee Shit (thats the closest we could manage and at least seemed right for pronounciation) We decided on a one day pass and did the smaller circuit taking in Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphuon, Terrace of the Leper King, Terrace of the Elephants, Thommanon, Chau Sey, Ta Keo, Ta Prohm and finishing with Banteay Kdei.
The sunrise was a bit cloudy but we were glad to have a bit more time at the Temples as there was a huge amount to see. Our favourites were Bayon and Ta Prohm.
It was the main centre of civilisation between 600-1300 with most of the temples from 1100s to 1300s with a Hindu and Buddhist basis bought over by traders from India.
