I took a little tour outside of Mandalay city to visit three towns: Amarapura, Sagaing, and Mingun. Most hotels and hostels know a taxi driver who would be willing to do this for a reasonable price, so it was easy to set up. I went with two other people from my hostel, but I would have gladly paid to do it on my own. I'd been fortunate enough to get information about the tour from the people I met my first day in Mandalay and they assured me that it would be well worth it to bargain for (and maybe even pay a little extra for) the trip to Mingun.

Our driver was quite good, very clear about times and keeping on schedule. We started at nine and had a lot to see before sunset on the famous teak U Bein Bridge. All the photos are captioned and in order, so you can feel like you're on the tour yourself! (Minus the heat and stairs, of course.) Sit back, relax, and enjoy the, er, just continue sitting.
