Hey, Add an hour to your clocks!! We took the coach over to Dover, this amazing place where the cliffs are white. We took this HUGE boat over to Paris. I swear I could live on this ship. It was the biggest ship with tons of shops. You had time to change your money over and time to basically do anything you wanted. It has a food court and games. It was awesome. Everyone was running around and just enjoying their time on the ship doing whatever they wanted. It was really cool. It was a nice way to head to France. We arrived in France. I took some pictures of the country-side. It was gorgeous. We got to see a bunch of sites in Paris. We had a four course meal for dinner... ahh they ... read more

Day Twelve (Into Shakespeare Country) Europe » United Kingdom » England » Warwickshire » Stratford upon Avon By Zigeuner July 24th 2006 Doug Lund No complaints about York from this traveler. I enjoyed a rather quiet and comfortable night of sleep in my huge single room. The TV actually picked up more than one station too. Nice big bathroom and a refreshing shower. Breakfast was pretty darn nice too: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted tomato and baked beans served from a buffet line. W... read more

Walking at night from the nearest bus stop into the harbour territory I ended up at Newark Airport. Some taxi driver who was quite familiar with the place finally got me to the right dock. But he said he had never been to this part of Newark and was unsure if this was still officially US territory and he was allowed to drive in the place with his taxi. When I finally walked up the gangway of Maersk Pecem it was in the middle of the night and I had not noticed any official border. The time on board was one of the best times I had during all my travels. Philippine food is not my favourite but I definitely enjoyed listening to the 20kn head wind at the bow of the 200m colossus passing through ... read more

Wike up early today at 6 am and head to the train station to catch our final ferry back from the hopk of holland to harwick (UK) After getting to the train station and realizing our ferry left at 7:20 not the train, so we had to switch trains a couple times (once accidental) and ended up at the hook of holland but late for our ferry so we had to wait till the next one at 3 pm. Grabbed some fried Cod for lunch (hey surprise surprise not all fish tastes like tuna) and had a nap while we waited for our ferry....well I am so glad its the last one for a while......I ended up SEA SICK!!! Spent most of the trip feeling like I was going to throw up and the rest of ... read more

well we are down to only a few days left here and paris is not as terrible as other parts of france. they are actually pretty nice here. we went to the louvre yersterday...and there were so many people there it was just too much. saw the mona lisa...big deal if you ask me, i could have seen a life size print and been more impressed since they have so much damn security around it, three guys, a wooden raling; a velvet rope; and it's behind glass. really you couldnt even get a good look at it; we also went to the modern art museum which in my opinion was so much better. the museum was only on one florr;, they have a university there and special ehibitions as well, but the museum was excellent; lots ... read more

We went to the Jardin du Luxenbourg to have a nice day in the park. We walked around and watched people play tennis then we sat by the fountain and watched kids play with their toy sail boats, After having enough sun, we walked into the shade to watch the band play. This is living.....this park is so beautiful and is one of the many charms of living in the Latin Quarter. ... read more

For our first anniversary we decided to celebrate by taking a couple of days off work and visiting the city of luuurve. We arrived quite late on a Wednesday night and found our hostel pretty easily. We were staying quite close to Sacre Coeur so that was naturally the first stop. Next up the Tour Eiffel, yes we climbed to the top. But everything is quite tiny from up there. Just “co-incidentally” there happened to be an evening bike tour leaving from the South leg of the Eiffel Tower and Barrie had been all up for a bike tour. I had my reservations, given that I had only ridden a bike once since I was 12 and that was in Amsterdam where the lanes are wide and dedicated to cyclists. This was Paris, drivers hate cyclists, ... read more

We took a long circuitous route towards the falls taking simple sights in along the way. A palm tree shaking above an azure sky, waterfalls weeping from their perches above. With each step we could hear the far rumble of the attraction that laid ahead. There were huge tropical leaves vying for sunshine. Tourists following a flag absent mindedly, the whistle of a train, and puddles filled with a deep orange color. They were full of iron, full of life, yet dead, like the blood spilled from the Guarani people exterminated from this pristine land. The metal creaked as we walked above the huge river basin flowing in seemingly every direction. We would cross lazy rivers 100 yards wide and gaze at the clouds floating above. After building our anticiaption we arrived at the mouth (or ... read more

On lahdettava paivaksi Paraguayhin. Hotelli Residencia Colonin (yosijamme taalla Posadassa) omistaja rouva, jonka englanninkielentaito on tuonut meille monta ilon hetkea, saattoi meidat itse aamulla pysakille, josta saimme paikallisbussin rajan yli Paraguayhin.
