Flight over smooth, slept a lot, almost entirely throughout legs to toronto, brussels, and entebbe. The group I'm travelling with is a great collection of individuals!

First impressions:

- tons of bugs, requires a slight adjustment

- amazing wildlife, including a wide variety of bird species (list in phone), but surprisingly no mammalian predators in the region

- humid, but not extraordinarily hot, which is a contrast from what I expected as a result of my past living experiences in Taiwan.

- people are really friendly (a motorcyclist stopped to ask if we were lost) and plenty of people say hi on the streets. Lots of stares, but nothing necessarily special about that.

- botanical gardens velvet monkeys are highlight as we are allowed to feed the animals. The monkeys come up and grab food from our hands, but are not open to being pet. Their grabbing motion has a noticeable scratch to it, but is otherwise very delicate and smooth.

- already getting a feel for Ugandan time. Up and ready by 8am, but didn't manage to leave Green Valley Guesthouse (which is where we're staying) until 10:30am. In my personal opinion, it's not an issue, though I will need to figure out how to spend my spare time while waiting.

- Still hoping to try some more fresh fruits and veggies here. Bought a giant avocado, but waiting for it to ripen. Had pineapple which was delicious, and watermelon juice which was also fantastic. Breakfast scrambled eggs and sausage is surprisingly good here at the guesthouse.
