I'm so sad!!! This will probably be my last blog from South Africa (see attached photos of some snapshots from the past week - my CCS friend Mara even came to join us for a quick minute - yay!) - less than two days left of safari and then I am on my way back to the States....Of course I am excited to return home to my family and friends, and even my work....buttttttttttttt, I am at a loss for words to adequately describe what this past month has meant to me and how I have been changed. What will stick with me the most are the people, who are more acutely aware of their freedom than anyone I've ever met. I am forever grateful to those here who have shared their stories with me (along with their homes, their food, and of course, their big giant hearts!). I will always remember to listen with humility thanks to you...I have enjoyed the past 2 weeks of backpacking through the country and have seen the things that dreams are made of (you guys should see these sunrises and sunsets!!!!), but I more firmly believe now than ever that the best way to truly begin to learn about and understand a new culture is to live in it. Thank you to those who have let me live in it. I am so sad to leave and will never, ever forget. I will share your stories too, and one day I will return. Ndiyakutanda wena!
