Tuesday: We went to a construction site and we tied steel. Building in Africa is very manually demanding... even more so than in America. The workers get paid 250-500 shillings a day which translates in to 3.50-7.00 dollars. Another thing is the building materials are SO expensive here for example a 50kg bag of concrete here is roughly 10 dollars American. SHOCKING considering we only pay about 2-3 dollars. When we got back from playing with the school kids yesterday the youth at the guest house were having a bible study so we joined in and it was probably the best bible study I have ever been involved in.

Yesterday: We went back to the site and tied more steel... I think the Africans were impressed with my quick and hard work considering I was about twice as fast as the others there haha before they weren’t happy with us because we were taking away from there work time but I think I grew on them. Then we went to a bio intensive which is a center where locals can learn better techniques of farming and agriculture. We met groups from Colorado and Nebraska there but didn’t talk long. Then we went to the school and played with the kids there again. Today we played volleyball, which is more popular with the guys here, and needless to say America prevailed again 😊 thanks to Jeremiah, who plays sand volleyball a lot at A&M.

Today: We went to the most rural place we’ve been the whole trip, we drove 16 km into a wildlife conservation to visit one of the villages that the grapevine church donate a lot of money to provide water and food to these people in remote places. There worship was probably the most beautiful thing I had ever seen / heard! They have no drums no guitars just there beautiful voices in harmony with each other the combination of that and the thick tangible presence of God brought me to tears. On our way there and back we saw many gorgeous animals such as giraffe zebra gazelle wart hog and an elephant. We didn’t expect to see any of these so it was a special treat. 😊

Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple days the mix of me being tired and the internet being unreliable put a damper on that. 😞 Im starting to miss home a little but im really enjoying my time in Africa and am continuing to fall in love with there culture. 😊

Love and miss all of you,

James
