Was up at 4am Monday morning to catch the bus to Livingstone. Stayed at Jollyboys backpackers', which was fine for my needs. Could boil up noodles for lunch in their kitchen and they do a basic filling meal for abouit a fiver each evening. They also had Savana cider even when the local Shoprite had sold out :) Tuesday morning got the hostel lift to Victoria Falls/Mosi-oa-Tunya, paid my entrance and wandered around the main part full of awe- have attached pictured and videos but not sure they can really do justice. Was a long way to go but definitely worth it. On the way back went to the local crocodile farm; apparently the tail is the only bit eaten- the rest just becomes shoes and luggage.. Livingstone is famous for its extreme sports; many tourists ... read more

Dr Livingstone we presume? Once our group got through the border ordeal we headed for the Falls. Right through Livingstone, where we are actually staying. Traditionally, Victoria Falls was visited by the Zimbabwean side, that side had some of the better views and the hotels and infrastructure was superior and right on the water. In comparison, Livingstone was just a town nearby, poor and with little tourist (or any other) infrastructure. Well these days, given the political issues and monetary issues, people are flooding the streets of Livingstone, and the town itself is struggling to build an infrastructure that can handle the tourists. Myself, and many others, won't visit Zimbabwe, primarily because we refuse to ... read more

Mulibwanji!? (How are you, in Nyanja) We are not the best at keeping this blog updated, but we hope you have patience with us and we will try to give faster news during these last few weeks of our amazing trip! We have now reached the Africa part of our travels, and are currently in Zambia. To be more specific we are in a small place called Livingstone, only a few kilometres from the Victoria Falls. Before making the long travel here from South America we enjoyed two weeks in Brazil, spending most of our time in Rio. We love this city and so many things about it: the people, the food, the night life, the beaches, and all the activities you could choose from. Since the weather was a bit unstable for about a week ... read more

Ive only been to Zambia once. I crossed at Victoria Falls check point, and went over to Livingstone. Watch your belongings keep it close by. The people of Zambia are amazing though, very helpful and friendly. The prices are very affordable but be sure to haggle with the local prices. The crossing at Victoria Falls is very easy and you can obtain your visa at the crossing for about usd $25 depends which border agent you get that day! There are lots of handicraft sales on the road leading to Livingstone be sure to pick up some of the Zambezi Teak wood pieces shaped into small animals and other shapes. Ive attached some photos.... read more
