Day 5 started dark and early as we had 720 kilometers to drive. That’s really only 7 hours, but the driver took his time and with a quick stop for lunch we arrived at the South Luangwe National Park to see a family of elephants enjoying some grass quite close to our tents! That’s all from day 5. There was internet available, but both my phone and computer couldn’t find the network. Blurg. Day 6 we got up for a game drive and didn’t immediately have to take down our tents. Im used to the routine by now. Get up, brush teeth and pee, pack bag, take down tent, eat brekky, and jump in the truck for a ride to a town for grocery shopping that most people don’t need to do. But today we got a small break in that after the game drive was the time to take the tents down. On the drive we saw about a million hippos floating in the Luangwe River with a few crocs looming nearby. There were plenty of elephants and impala as well as puku; a slightly larger antelope with a redder hide. After a spot of tea we set off and found some more lions! Yay!!! Seems like you have to be pretty lucky to spot certain wildlife, but since Kruger ive seen the big cat in every park. Boooom! Back to camp to breakdown the tents and have a big brunch and then a short drive to, you guessed it, the same shopping center we stopped at the day before. Our guide explained it would be a quick one of 15-20 min but when we stopped he asked for 1-1.5 hours. Jeeeeeeeeeeeez………this is really annoying. He tells us each day that we should stock up on things cuz we wont be stopping for a few days and then we do anyways. So annoying. Getting old real fast…but TIA I suppose. Well..idk..I hate shopping. Especially when I have nothing to buy…onto camp where the power went out a lot but I recently had a bunch of music put on this mp3 player ive been carrying around empty for 4 months and my speaker was charged so we got to listen to some sweet tunes the whole night.
