Safari njema urudi salama.

This is the day to say farewell to Africa. Hard to believe it was our last breakfast in Kayanga. Lots of final farewells. After George loaded the truck with everything, Edina rode with us for a while. Our team watched her walk away. I am confident I will see her again although I feel the vacuum of her presence.

Lunch at a highway take-away. We all ate off of the menu except George and Andrew who had buffet. Andrew told us later he had made an error with that. George had to produce various licenses at the border but we got through in good shape. In Uganda, George showed us Lake Victoria which felt a tad hot and buggy. Some local folks were swimming and I couldn't help but wonder about water quality: A constant issue here. George showed us a beautiful 5 star hotel and then took us to the airport. We sat at the cafe and played cards. At about 8:15PM we went to board and George stood up and hugged each of us. We grabbed our things and walked toward the check-in. George stood dutifully on the other side of the glass

until we were out of sight. I was sad to say 'good-bye'.

The rest is typical travel stuff such as read the Wall Street Journal, emailed Steve, watched TV and landed in Amsterdam at 4:30am.

Amsterdam: More typical travel stuff but - more aware than ever of the difference between the earthy fresh food of Kayanga compared to the convenience food served by the airlines. Slept for hours and hours. Felt good. Landed MSP.

Home. And you know what Dorothy says ...

Take me to the Educate Tanzania website.
