A powerful lion on the hunt We actually went on this trip to the crater while the group from Northport was still here with us, I just hadn't had time to sit down and upload the pictures to the website, and the kids friends have been requesting to see more animal pictures, so while I had time tonight I thought I would try to get these on here. We saw 20 lions that day down in the crater it was an amazing trip!
Its been a wonderful day, we've been working at cleaning the house to try to get it ready to move into. We've swept out the 3rd layer of dust now and are just about there. I watched little Gracie, our 4 yr old, playing out in the back yard today as she was finding some new friends in the neighborhood.. 9 to be exact. Nine little African children were all squatted down with her in the large sand pile in out behind the house... all I saw was a huddle and then a little blonde head popped up and said hey mom come look at this! She had been trying to get them to help her build a city in the sand...coke bottles,
plastic lids and all. Her and her 2 words in swahili along with grand arm movements and facial gestures got the job done. Its amazing. They spoke no english and it all and yet, it all worked out in the end. We had to leave early to get to the church building by 4:00 for Wednesday night class in Arusha, and this was our first time to test the distance and time to travel from the house to the building.. it was about 15 minutes in heavy traffic.. cows, chickens, carts, garrett even said the daily quote of, "well that's not something you see every day!" wheel barrels, dodging cars trucks and all. Always an adventure on the roads here.
We had a great class, Cy was teaching on the false beliefs and African superstitions.. The ladies class has decided to join the men for this series. I even learned a few superstitions that I had never heard of before. One lady named Blessed was baptized tonight in Arusha. I beleive she was one that had studied with Greg Dixon from Northport, while he was here.
There is a lot of good being done and the work continues to

Up on the rim of the crater be blessed!
Brent and Francis are heading up to Kikatiti to hold a gospel Meeting tommorrow morning, Thursday through Saturday and then Brent will be preaching there this Sunday. They are taking several of the Bible school students with them to pass out tracts and doing Bible studies in the mornings and then doing a video series in the evenings at the church there. Please keep this effort in your prayers that the church there may grow and abound!
The Ladies in Arusha are going to be hosting a ladies seminar the 28th of October and we are getting ready for that, having a get together at Agnes Kambarages house this Saturday to do some planning, preparations, and fellowship.
All in all we just stay busy! We can't wait for the fellow missionaries to join us, the Browns should be on their way soon, the Baker family following in March and then soon after that the Sanford family as well. We have so much to look forward to!
We are all doing great and adjusting really well. The kids havent missed a beat, they're absolutly loving life in Africa! We're all ready to get into the
Migration of the Wildebeast
aka.. as a Tanzanian Road block! house and finally get settled but like everything in Africa you just have to have patience, "Hamna Shida, pole pole" (No problem, and slowly slowly) wait for everything to fall into place.
But know that we love you and miss you! & Hope you enjoy the pictures LOVE, ~Julie
