so after exploring stone town, I headed a bit further north and towards the indian ocena coast of Zanzibar for a bit of beach time! and wow, was it ever relaxing check out www.matemwebeach.net and you will find the best little beach village/resort I have ever seen! 17 little bungalows with straw roofs, right on the beach, nestled in this little fishing village, the friendliest staff, and nothing to do but read, watch the sunrise in the morning, lounge around, snorkle or dive, watch the local kids run around and splash around in the turqoise water, marvel at the women who harvest the seaweed, admire the young men who dive for octupus or go fishing in the dhows... a glimpse at a time that used to be, still is and will hopefully never seize to be!
