Scenery en route to Tanzania
If you have been following the ETI website, the ETI Travelblog, ETI’s Facebook or Twitter, you know that we are in Karagwe, Tanzania now working on the Rural Opportunity Centers. Bruce Engel of BURO Engel Architects and I are working with the Karagwe Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in order to plan the design of centers or hubs located in rural areas as extensions or satellites of Karagwe University College (KARUCO).

*****Bruce and I landed in Entebbe, stayed one night and as with every team since 2010, were driven to the border by our friend and owner of Ben’s Travel Adventures - Ben Kayemba. After immigration, we walked out in the sunshine to find Ben chatting with James Kahunda our friend and driver from the ELCT.Bruce has worked for 6 years in Rwanda designing and helping construct a Women’s Opportunity Center series of buildings. He shared some of his experiences with that: Notably teaching women to make high quality bricks. Some of the ideas, such as this, can easily translate to Karagwe. noted<br style="color:𶐎
