Thunderstorm rolling in over the TLC campus
February 14, 2015 (Sidvokodvo, Swaziland) The TLC Miracle Campus
is just outside the town of Sidvokodvo. Located on a small hill overlooking a large agricultural valley it has an impressive panoramic view of a mountain range to the west. While we were there a cool front brought some relief to the heat and a small thunder and lightning storm, which cast a beautiful scene in the western sky.
The campus is a stunning location and the master plan calls for an impressive construction of operational facilities and living quarters for staff and visitors with facilities for patient housing. As the visitor facilities are still in the plans, we are staying in a rental house a few minutes drive from the TLC Miracle Campus. We toured the recently completed facilities: large metal warehouses that hold the logistical centers for all aspects of their work including vehicle maintenance, warehouses, container storage, training center, and the administrative nerve center. Toward the back of the campus there is a residential area for staff. Future plans include construction to double capacity for warehousing and logistics, a surgical center, patient residence, expansion of staff residence, more training facilities and short-term visitor residence. TLC uses its own full-time construction
crew for the bulk of the construction work.
