The view of the estuary from the beach.

This morning we all had a sleep in and woke up to wind and rain. All seven of us drove into St Lucia for lunch. We ate at the St Lucia Ski Boat Club. I really enjoyed my pizza. From its deck on the estuary we could see crocodiles and hippos. As well as seeing the hippos, we could also hear them.

After lunch the others went back to Cape Vidal. Paul and I met our friend Brett and his friend who also happened to be in town. We went for a walk along the beach. From here we could see many pelicans, other large birds and hippos. For me the best sight was a pair of hippo tracks in the sand. There were many warnings signs on the beach warning us of hippos, sharks and crocodiles. This definitely is not a place to walk after dark!

Paul and I said goodbye to Brett and his friend and drove back to Cape Vidal. On our drive through the park we saw more hippos, a dagga boy and a white rhino and her calf.
