A giraffe we came across.

Yesterday Paul's parents arrived at Jaci's for a visit. This morning I started work later and joined them and Paul's other guests for a game drive. It was a while until we saw any interesting sightings. Finally we came across a giraffe and a zebra. They were slightly interesting as they were the first mammals of the drive besides impala.

Then we saw two giraffes, one taller than the other. They were also a much darker brown than the one we saw earlier on this morning. It made an interesting sighting as the taller one was standing right behind the shorter one.

Further along we stopped to look at some birds. They were Double Banded Sand Grouse. The male one has a bright orange beak and the female has a brown beak. The two birds just sat by the edge of the road as we took photos of them.

We then came across a sleeping pair of male lions. They were just centimetres from the road. We parked the car and watched them. A few minutes after our arrival one of the lions put his head up, sat up for a few minutes and then lay down again. Then the

other lion did the same. It wasn't very interesting to watch lions sleep, so we continued on with our game drive. The rest of the drive was very quiet.

About twenty metres away there was another male lion- also sleeping.

One of them put their head up for a moment.

The male lion is sitting up.

Then he returned to sleep.
