Today we began our 9 days of leave. We left the lodge quite late today, just after 12pm. For this leave we were spending our time in Johannesburg with Paul's parents. Just after we left the lodge we stopped to watch the large troop banded mongoose by the side of the road.

It was probably the same troop that lives at our lodge. The mongooses were having a great time digging and scratching around in elephant poo. They were looking for insects to eat. They briefly stopped and looked at us, then would get back to looking for insects. It was an interesting sight.
