The living room of our gorgeous chalet.

I woke up this morning quite excited. I was unsure of the chalet's location, were we securely fenced off? or in the middle of open grassland? Went out onto the balcony at the back and discovered that we were surrounded by dense trees and bushes, there wasn't much to see. We were on our way to the restaurant for our buffet breakfast when we spotted a group of monkeys on the path in front of us. Our presence caused them to climb up the nearest tree. We frantically got our cameras out of our bags wanting to photograph. I was too busy watching them to take a decent photo of them.

After breakfast, we jumped aboard our jeep, armed with cameras, ready to spot African wildlife. I was pretty excited to be using my new digital SLR, it better not disappoint me. We were in an open sided jeep. Our driver was a local man, Russell. It wasn't long (about a few minutes down the road) that Russell spotted some animals. To the side of the road we saw some wildebeest and a deer like animal. We went crazy with the cameras, there were four of us with the

In warmer weather, crocodiles are found basking in the sun here.

Only a few metres from the road, we saw this big elephant eating grass. We stopped for a bit to watch it.

It then stopped eating grass and started walking fast towards our jeep! We panicked and Russell drove us away.
