In reality the entire 12 days was one WILD RIDE!! The days just flew by with all the great things that we saw and did. If I tried to recap the entire trip in one blog, it would take me several weeks just to down load all the photos that I have chosen from the hundreds that I took. The Dung BeetleThe Dung Beetle
The Dung Beetle

This beetle lays its eggs in the dung and then rolls it into a ball bigger than herself. She rolls the ball down the road, we're not sure where she takes it. When the eggs hatch they have instant food!! This is also the beetle that is on the Egyptian scarab.

They are often seen together. The giraffe can watch for predators from the tree line and the zebra watches from below.

These 2 cheetahs were very near our lodge as we returned in the morning for breakfast. It is very unusual to see them in this preserve. These were the last animals seen on our last game drive in Timbavati.

Hello
Ron & Pam, Great pictures, great story. What an interesting couple of weeks. Everything is fine here. Jenna's team beat the 12 under boys tonight 4-3 and Jenna had 3 goals. I told Ron a few times I am not an envious or jealous person, but I have to admit that you two can take me close to those emotions. I am very happy for you that you are enjoying this wonderful experience. Retirement must be Grand! Take Care. Jim

Wow!
Hi Pam and Ron, I hit on your blog by chance (search for pics of Akeru in google). I'm off to RSA in 10 days time and I'll be visiting the Kruger, specifically Satara, Akeru and Inyati. After reading your blog (very interesting, I could almost feel the bumpy ride!) and seeing the photos (stunning), I can hardly wait. Thanks for sharing. Jill
