Kruger NP
Got up early and headed towards Kruger NP. We got stopped along the way by the police for supposedly missing a stop sign. ( we are not use to looking towards the left side of the road) Thought we would have to pay a 1500 Rand($150 CAD) but Mark sweet talked the guy about being Canadian and he let us go.
What can I say about Kruger. It is the Banff of South Africa. Within a kilometre into the park we saw a rhino, giraffes and elephants.
We are in Kruger for 3 nights at various park campsites and they all have been good. For us the biggest difference has been no assigned stalls just go find a site, the braii (The braii is a SA barbeque. They mainly use wood or charcoal.), and no dogs. Both Mark and I have comment about not seeing hardly any dogs in SA. Someone told us it is because of the wild animals like baboons grabbing them.
Back to the animals is Kruger. Our first night there we went on a night safari and saw a leopard, cheetah, lions, buffalo, hyena. The cats definitely come
out to play at night!
