Hermanus is one of the very few places on earth you can see whales from the land.

I left Stellenbosch, with some sadness in heart, made really good friends there, but the journey must go on.

Hermanus Backpackers, is owned and run by a couple (a french guy and a british woman who met in Africa, got married, came to Hermanus for a weekend many years back and never left 😊 It was a cosy place, felt like home

Hermanus Cliff Path is an amazing walk, you go there and sit in a corner by the sea, under the big blue sky and the never ending green sea. Its the amphitheater of gods and you are the audience. And then the Southern Right whales appear out of nowhere. And I watched in awe, they were less than 100 meters away and playing away to glory 😊 The pictures won't tell you much, you have to be here to witness nature in its full glory

My feet hurts, don't know how much I have walked already, but its a place that instils calm and peace in me

In the evening, it was back to the backpackers, talking to other travellers, watching a british woman beat the shit out of most guys in pool and getting to know a Chilean woman who is traveling to India in January. South American people are the most fun to hang around with 😊

Next day was a full day of travel to Knysna, thaankfully it was a wet day, so I didn't spend a sunny day traveling

I like this backpacking bit, the experience is so grounding, so in touch with what the real world is all about...
