After our stay in Knysna and our time along the Garden Route we said our goodbyes to Beth and Paul who were heading for an overnight safari near Port Elizabeth then flying back to Cape Town and then to the UK.

Val and myself with Gemma and Martin set off on our journey from Knysna to Hermanus and what a scenic journey it was. Hermanus is very picturesque with cliff top walks and the sea pounding the rocks below with lots of surf. The next day we were on our way to Cape Town. we stopped at the Stony Point penguin colony near Bettys Bay. This was a wonderful place to visit and watch the penguins. We continued on what must be one of the great ocean drives in the world with superb scenery en route to Cape Town.
