Did our usual wine tours on Saturday and had lunch at Hartenberg Winery. The food and wine was good but not quite as good as Somerbosch last week. Also visited Beyerskloof winery which are noted for their Pinotage which we bought a bottle along with their very nice port.

On the way to Stellenbosch we stopped by a craft market in Somerset West which offered many unique local crafts that we found quite interesting and certainly not the "run of the mill" craft market.

Attended an outdoor concert in Helderberg park which is in Somerset West and about 20 minutes from Gordons Bay. The band was The Shiraz who originated in England and were formerly called The Dooley's. Apparently they were quite a competitive band to Abba back in the late sixties early seventies

Jane and Jim invited us along and it was a great evening. The Band brought in a number of quest performers and the audience had a great time, dancing, enjoying wine and nibbles etc. It was well attended and the concert is part of a series that are used a fund raisers by the Helderberg Park Conservation committee. The park itself is beautiful, nestled at the bottom of Helderberg mountain. There are a number of hiking trails that Debra and I plan to explore in the next few days.
