Why going to Kruger when you can have it all at serene Pilanesberg National Park?

After a terrible, spooky night in our awful accomodation in the Magaliesberg near Rustenburg we got up very early, did not even bother about breakfast but just left this place. Butts of Africa

Glad to know there is another option than Kruger Park. Especially a self drive. I would like to do this next time. Not sure if I’d want to come car to face with an elephant though!

Oh yes, it's worth it and so much cheaper. Keeping a distance to the elis is always a good idea ;-). Happy travels to you.

Self-Drive Safari
Wow! Well done! You saw so many animals on your self-drive safari! Pilanesberg indeed seems like a good alternative to Kruger. The spooky accommodation can't have been nice at night, I'm glad you were able to change it on your way back.
