Sonntag 14.3.2010 - pretoriouskop camp krüger national park Hatte seit letzten Mittwoch frei und ich war bei jenny und dee welche ich vor einigen monaten in nelspruit im funky monkey backpacker kennen gelernt habe. Wir haben eine gemütliche zeit verbracht, beide habe tagsdurch gearbeitet und ich hatte daher gemütlich zeit all die sachen zu organisieren welche ich mir vorgenommen habe. Wir gingen zusammen in den ausgang, haben bei ihnen zu hause gegrillt. Gestern gingen wir nach kaapschehoop irgendwo ausserhalb von nelspruit und wir gingen dort mit ihren 2 hunden zu fuss zu einem aussichtspunkt, wo wir die atemberaubende sicht genossen haben. Zurück beim auto entschlossen wir uns kurzfristig, etwas zu essen und schauten dazu rugby (mehr sie als ich...) Heute morgen hatten beide frei und daher blieben wir alle etwas länger im bett. After 2 months I needed to do a visa run. Jim and Suus had left and i had met the lovely Anna and Gustav who were leaving to go to the Kruger for a couple of days. Good opportunity i thought so i went along and we had a great time!!! Gustav got sick but recovered and we saw lots of gorgeous stuff! They left for jo'burg and i went to Nelspruit to stay with Adiel's (we worked together in Moz) parents. They are fantastic and have pampered me and spoilt me for 3 days - loving it and i dont really want to leave.. But the bus goes back to Mozambique this evening and i will enter with my new 3 month visa! Yay! Now there will be no more entrys for a little while ... read more

Montag 21.9.2009 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA (mis gotteching wo scho 8i isch)! nun, es ist montag halb 2 am Nachmittag und es hat sich immer noch nix getan... abgesehen davon, dass ich 2 weitere mails gekriegt habe. Die eine lodge will mich asap interviewen - africa time, das kann dauern... - und die andere lodge in mosambik wird sich ende woche entscheiden... die lodge in mosambik tönt ganz gut. Ist eigentlich aber keine lodge, sondern ein luxury tented camp, welches auch wilderness trails anbietet! Wäre super dort zu arbeiten, aber dann habe ich ein weiteres problem mit nem visa. Aber so weit mag ich gar nicht denken... Ist im transfrontier park - das heisst gehört zum krüger, aber liegt über der landesgrenze. I had my nose as good as stuck to the window, taking in my first glimpses of South Africa. For a lot of travellers, this is their first African country. It apparently gets more tourists than anywhere else in sub-Saharan Africa. I had studied the map and the guidebook, and each time I suggested some beautiful sounding place, Seth would hit me with a ‘been there, done that.’ Drakensberg? Done it. Cape Town? Done it. Blyde River Canyon National Park? Done it. Awesomely tacky Sun City? Done it and ‘never going back there, Louie, under any circumstances.’ (Damn.) Arrived in Nelspruit and went straight for a cafe - we wanted coffee!! Jenny was walking ahead a bit when two older women called Tess over and told her to wait. This part of town was dangerous!! ''Don't you worry we will find your friend!'' Can't say we were worried... Come on, it was in the middle of the day and the (black) people around us looked wealthy. Some white people... *sigh* Went to an internet cafe after we had had a bite to eat, needed to find accomodation. First two hostels we could find were fully booked... Third time's a charm??
