Another night’s sleep in the tent and a late rise from it as well. I had breakfast with Brian and we talked about what to do in Jozi before leaving. There was one other flea market we decided to visit, with Jonathan and Aisha also interested in going.
We ended up meeting them there after they had gone to the Apartheid Museum in the morning. The flea market wasn’t much different from the one the day before a lot of the same products and souvenirs. Brian and I walked around for a bit, looking at all the souvenirs we couldn’t afford or have enough room to take with us. We did enjoy some good food at the market however, tasting some Thai curries and Chinese stir fry’s! That was a big highlight! We also saw a big drum band sing and dance which was cool.
After getting our fill of market people and food we headed back to the hostel for one last relaxing night in South Africa. I was leaving the next day for Cairo, Brian was heading back to Cape Town where he was living, and Jonathan and Aisha back to England. The ladder
two sad they had to be leaving and ending their trip, Brian ready to be back home, and I curious what in the hell Egypt would be like. We sat around and talked about what we would do in the nearer future and how things would pan out, while watching some mind numbing movies in the lounge of the hostel. It was a tranquil last night in Southern Africa, much different from most nights I had spent on the continent. We all went to sleep fairly early, with bags packed and ready to be checked in.

Happy Birthday to my pregnant sister Jillian!! I made sure to buy her a souvenir or two in South Africa before heading to Egypt!
That last day in South Africa was very uneventful. Brian left to the airport at 9am while I was sleeping in my tent, but we still made a power move before he jumped in the taxi to the airport. The rest of the day I got my things together and sat around the hostel waiting for the time to pass before I would get into a taxi with Jonathan and Aisha to the airport. Our
flights were at about the same time and it was cheap for us to split the cost of the taxi. We said our goodbyes at the airport and went our separate ways, both starting new journeys in completely different places.
Everything was timed perfect, so much so that I didn’t have to wait long at the gate before boarding started. Relief as I normally wait around for what seems like an eternity before I get on the plane! I went to sleep pretty much straight after getting on the plane, and before I knew I was awake and looking at the desert below, wondering when and if I would see the Pyramids of Giza below me.
Hope you like the (lack) of photos and (uneventful) post! Until next time, Pura Vida!!
