Hola mundo! - We are Nina and Markus. We are from Lake Thun/Switzerland and we are outdoor junkies. Whenever possible we spend our time travelling, climbing, ice-climbing, trekking or snowboarding/skiing. Great to read about your time in Johannesburg. It is particularly encouraging to read that despite its dangers and security issues, it is still possible to visit. Glad to hear you had some quality time with your spiritual master. Sometimes getting absolutely drenched in a rainstorm is just so uplifting ?

Yes, it is defintely possible to visit. Be careful, use your common sense and intuition and go for it. To explore the city really, a local guide for a walking tour might be a great idea (there are many good ones). Many people also drive to certain parts of Soweto with their own wheels and it is perfectly fine.
