Today we drove from Tsala to St Francis on the Western Cape. On the way we stopped off to see the highest commercial bungee jump in the world. I had to hold Meg back because she was desperate to have a go but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time. (That last line was a blatant lie clearly.) We also went to see the big tree, it might be nearly 1,000 years old but I have seen bigger. We seem to be saying this a lot, but St Francis is beautiful; our guest house has views out over the Indian Ocean with steps down onto the beach. Hi all!Hopelijk alles goed in Belgie? Believe it or not, dit is werkelijk de eerste keer dat we een internet cafe vinden dat niet failliet is, of niet werkt na een stroompanne;) Ok veel te vertellen dus, let's start with Jo'Burg; De vlucht viel best goed mee en zelfs nog deftig eten,not bad. Rond 5u sochtens landen we en pikken we bij Europe Car de polo met kont op,komt goed uit om al de bagage in kwijt te geraken Na wat verkeerd rijden zijn we op weg naar het oosten, richting een hoop watervallen langs de panoramaroute en meer van dat schoons. We have been in South Africa for almost a week now. In Johannesburg we stayed at a hostel right around the corner from the airport, so we didn't actually see too much of that city....which is alright, seeing as how it's plagued by rampant crime and car-jackings (at least that's what the news focuses on). We decided not to take the hop-on, hop-off bus option (Baz Bus) this time, and instead opted for more freedom with a car rental. Interesting -- on the "car safety" pamphlet they gave us there are specific precautions to avoid car-jacking. This is too bad, because hitchhiking seems to be one of the main modes of transport for much of the country.
