why hello everyone!! glad to see the date is printed as i have lost track of time and date and day...its fantastic!! (although driving our truck driver spare as im always the last one ready!!

no photos this time as limited time and no usb port on this pc..but they will follow, dont you mind!! 8)

so...flew into capetown (via j'burg)sneaking a peak out of the plane window on the way in...as overnight we had to keep closed..then to blinding when we were allowed to open!!! but say the sun rise and a shooting star..what a good start!! 8)

got to my room without problem (a little nervous about the whole thing, but worst bit over i feel!!) the hotel staff were brilliant and told me rooms of the people doing the tour so went on the hunt for anyone there and found Eda..and older German lady who speaks little English, but sweet all the same, and company to go for an early evening (and still bright and sunny..wow!!) explore around town, found company gardens, very pretty!!

back to the hotel and found Eva.. a younger girl from Holland, very lovely and briliant English, phew!! went for dinner with Eva..backl to hotel and arranged to meet for breakfast!

anyway..too much detail..

met the group the following evening, so in mean time we went to roben island, very interesting!!!

Eva lost her luggage, so brought a few bits at the V&A water front! (met Martina a swedish girl at breakfast)

met most of the 24 group members that night (inc our leader, driver and trainee)

early start (starts between 4-6 am so far) to get on the road for out 2nd longest drive of the trip..around 10 hours on the road! bumpy start, but soon get used to it!!

everything is now covered in dust!!

so we drove to orange river, where we camped the night..our lunch by the side of the road, and dinner bbq ready and prepared for our arrival. so far have been brilliant with food providing veggie alternatives all the time!! and evening of food and alcohol (springboks have to be done with the dance) and the loosing of my tequiler virginity ensued!

not realizing until the following morning that across orange river..out=r beautiful view of the evening was actually Namibia, so we had a border crossing the following morning!!

there are so many stars!!

shorter drive the following day..to fish river canyon!

huge and beautiful! saw the sun setting over the canyon! 8) its all so unbelievable..it looks like youve had a postcard stuck up in front of you!!

The scenery is contantly changing, the green town in cape town, rocky, sandy, dunes...wow!!

so far have seen (excuse my spelling..you know what i mean!! springbok, zebras, impala, ostrich, ornx, jeckels, a black breasted snake eagle... so amazing!!

anyway, run out of time, sorry for the disarray!! will continue to garble as soon as i can!!

love and hugs to all!!!

Keeping track!
We've found your travel books from STA and added your itinery to the calendar so that when people ask...'and where is she now?' I have some chance of remembering. According to my list you should be somewhere in the Kalahari today...wow, how exciting is that! This trip seems to be so full of trips and turns it will be difficult to remember it all.Hope it is living up to the blurb in the book. Lots of love Mumx

Eastleigh is still the same
BREAKING NEWS!!! Coming to you from across the globe. Nothing has been going on. Eastleigh is the same. I have been going to work, coming home from work and watching TV. This exciting update was brought to you by the letters D U and L and the number 0. Thank you for listening. Actually.... my colleague Neil broke his leg playing rugby and Joe got stitches in his chin (also rugby, same game), and my friend Clare's friend Claire had a baby, apparently. Also, Ross has handed in some work and now has new work to work on. Wow. Update next time, bye for now, Helen!!! xxx
