This town didn't leave much of an impression on me, but it was a good intro to Morocco. Really, aside from the Alchemist-driven romance of crossing the strait from Tarifa to Africa, there is no reason to take the ferry here unless you are going to spend some time in the very north of Morocco. I spent 30 dollars on the boat ride to Tangier and then took a night train to Marrakesh; this took a full day of my time and cost about 50 dollars overall. On the way back to Europe, I flew from Marrakesh to Barcelona for twenty dollars. Search discount airlines to get you right to the heart of Morocco -- Marrakesh.
My blog serves two purposes: to let friends and family know what I'm up to while on trips abroad, and to give travel advice from the perspective of a fellow traveler, rather than from a guidebook writer.
