As usual, I prefer to allow the photos to tell the story. Panoramas: 1&2 Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side...looking to Zambia. 3. Samburu river view. 4. Maasi Mara dawn. Next, we fly to Singapore for a brief stay then an 8 day cruise up... Read Full Entry

These clever vervets have learned how to unzip tents, get in and create havoc! Zips have to be locked. Hippos and huge crocs patrol the river. Right across from our tent 2 lioness had a baboon for lunch. They must have been hungry as apparently they don’t fancy baboon meat.

Samburu Birthday

Chalk up another exotic birthday locale for Marlene. Last year it was the Amazon jungle, this year serenaded by staff singing a traditional birthday greeting in their language accompanied by drums and a flaming torch.

Don’t be put off by “tent” if you are planning an African Safari. They are fully equipped, cool and often found in smaller camps which we really liked. Just 12 tents at Entim, 14 at Samburu.

Every June/July millions of grazing animals migrate to Maasi Mara from the Serengeti for the fresh grasses. One of their crossing points is right across from Entim. Nile crocodiles pick off the stragglers.
