Six days before departure we are all getting ready for our trip. We will be flying from Vancouver to Accra via Amsterdam on KLM. Still waiting for our visas to be returned from the High Commission in Ottawa. Our fingers are crossed that they will arrive in time! Our group has sent enough money ahead of time to purchase 350 mosquito nets for distribution to hospitals and orphanages in the Sunyani area while we are there. Our team members are Past District Governor Ross White ( Rotary Club of Nanaimo), Gordon Butt ( Duncan Rotary Club), Laraine Butt, Garry Cox (Rotary Club of Parksville AM), Alexis Hammer, Ken Hammer (Nanaimo Daybreak Rotary Club), Don Luke (Rotary Club of Parksville AM), Michael Procter (Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach).

We are a group of 6 Rotarians and two non-Rotarians from Central Vancover Island, BC travelling to Ghana in April - May 2011. The purpose of the trip is to inspect the sites of recent projects and to develop future projects that address health, literacy, drinking water, waste management, HIV/AIDS education, malaria prevention and micro-credit in the Sunyani region of Ghana.... full info
