If I were a songwriter I would write a song about “Everyone Needs a Little Tenderness.” I am sure there are songs about that but this would be reserved for those most in need. Some of the boys had foam mattresses but due to not being provided anything when they use the toilets they had to tear pieces of the foam off and use it as toilet paper.

There are no lights and with 50 boys sleeping on the ground it is hard to navigate outside for the toilets. Therefore, there is a lot of urine on the walls.

One thing that I was thankful to see was the Muslims and Orthodox and non-believers living in peace with each other, all living under one roof at times.

We saw so many skin conditions that were infected simply due to lack of sanitation.

Adult refugees are taught some social work concepts and they become responsible for 3 houses of kids (24 kids), to help guide and counsel them. It is a huge job but gives them a little stipend which they appreciate. Refugees are not allowed to earn money in the local economy.

as children leave the camp and fall from the protection of family and government....leaving them totally vulnerable.

We were stopped on the road for 45 minutes while the crew pushed rock off of the mountainous overpass.
