Lighthouse of Alexandria Alexandria Lighthouse was located on the small Island of Pharos in Alexandria, which is known to be completed around 270 B.C by the
Greek architect Socrates. The lighthouse’s purpose is to guide ships and water vessels in and out of the Nile River. But the lighthouse was severely damaged after several earthquakes and calamities, reasons why it disappeared completely (around 1480).
