We (My partner and I) will be arriving Ulaan Baatar from China around the first week of May.
We want to arrange jeep tour of around 20-28 days starting in UB, and heading west - eventually to Tavan Bogd National Park (The Altai Mountains) in the very western tip of Mongolia.
En-route we want to see many places along the south road and perhaps the western Gobi, and then once we've reached Tavan Bogd, do some exploring for a fair few days. After there, we want to complete a big loop back to UB by taking in the north western parts of Mongolia. As for destinations, we are flexible, but we must see Tavan BogdNational Park - one of the most remote and last true wildernesses in the world!
We have made some enquiries and we should be able to hire a jeep (max 4 people - so us + 2 more) for less than $90 a day including English speaking driver and fuel. Food, I don't think will add too much to this price. We will predominantly camp, as opposed to stay in gers to save cost.
Put that into perspective; if you are one person, you might only have to pay ~$30 a day for the trip of a lifetime! - and if you are two people, then even less!
As for us:
- We are an easy going couple, ages: 26 and from the UK. Been together for many years - never argue!
- We love to travel way off the beaten track where possible and take an appreciative view of the cultures we encounter
- Love the outdoors, camping, hiking, trekking, climbing mountains etc
- Love meeting new and interesting people and trying to understand the world through others eyes
Looking for like-minded people!
If you might be interested please message us. Any questions, please ask!
Look forward to hearing from anyone
Best regards
Lee & Caroline
