ATHENS
Lovely buildings - Athens Uni Very warm 37 degrees in Athens today. Up early and got the Hop On Hop Off bus at 8.15p.m. Great way to get around the city in a day, being able to get off and on as much as you like. Went to Parthenon and Acropolis first amazing place but a lot of renovations going on - getting a bit over historic sites so then around the whole circuit, getting off and walking for a couple of hours through the flea market, the Plaka, National Gardens to Government House to see changing of the guards at the the Unknown Soliders Tomb then back on the bus to the Acropolis again and took a walk down Apostolou St soaked up the sun and local sites - found a lovely little Taverna for lunch and spent over an hour there - lovely cold FIX (dark beer) and a platter of Greek meats and goodies yummy!! Then walked the foodies trail through Central Markets, back on the bus and back to ship. Haven't done any ship tours as too many people, couldn't think of anything worse than trailing around with 45 people, sometimes there are like 20 buses waiting to take Princess Passengers on

Acropolis tours. All our 4-6 group tours have worked well especially when you find people who are on the same page as ourselves. Set sail for Mytilene 5.45p.m. going to have a leisurely day there doing lunch as soaking up the local atmosphere in a taverna by the sea.
