My husband & I have a 24 hour layover in Frankfurt and are looking for advice on where to go, stay and eat.
This will be in late May.
Any advice will be very helpful.
Thank you!
Reply to this Walk to the other side of the river (from the railway station) and stroll along the river. There are also some good museums in that area. The Botanical Garden is nicely laid out, it is on the same side of the river from the railway station, rather far to walk to (about 30 minutes) - should be nice at the end of May with lots of flower displays.
Reply to this Thank you - that sounds perfect. Any suggestions on where to stay?
Reply to this I have never been to Frankfurt, I don't know about it. I hope that everybody will share further information.
Reply to this I really don't know about frankfut please help net found some information where you stay.
Reply to this The Paulskirche is where Germany's first parlament convened in the 19th century and worth a visit. The Roemer is the old historic area, with the cathedral (was bombed during WW II, now rebuilt) and the Staedl, which is one of Europe's best art museums. For a bit of rustic flair, go to Saschenhausen with a lot of little bars and restaurants. You have to drink Abblewoi (cidre), that is the local speciality.
