What is the best place to visit in Portugal in late September- October? I will be grateful for any advice. I would like to have a chance to spend some time on the beach but also to do some sightseeing.

Reply to this Hi Joana!
Definately the south! Algarve has the best beaches in the world.
The little round cakes are "Pasteis de Nata". We have it all over Portugal. Have Fun. SSousa

Hi Sergio,
One last question- which town is in your opinion the best to visit in Algarve?
I've seen lovely rocks on the web and would love to see this.
I will be grateful for your advice! 😊
Joanna
Reply to this Sintra should definitely be on your list - the old town is one of the most magical villages I've ever had the pleasure to visit. The convent of Mafra was probably rated second in my list of highlights.
If you are into something a bit "different" head off to Evora to see a chapel whose walls are lined with human bones.
If you read my blog on Portugal, you can read and see more about these places:

Reply to this Portugal is a great country for a vacation. It is wonderful for sightseeing. A first stop of your vacation have to be Lisbon and then Algarve, as well as Porto. Look what information I found on the internet <snip> I also found an online hotel booking website <snip> where you can find discounted hotel rates if need accommodation.

Reply to this Portugal is strange, wonderful and beautiful country.you are going to travel Portugal and visit the best places in Portugal, we suggest that you visit Evora. Evora is very captivating and unforgettable city with its unique architecture which reflects cities history from Roman times to the present day. The city was founded at the very beginning of the Christian era. In Evora you can visit the cathedral with different Gothic elements which is by the way the largest in Portugal. There is a Sacred Art Museum near the cathedral. This museum is situated in one of two asymmetrical towers. There is also a famous Evora's landmark from the left of the cathedral. This landmark is a graceful Roman temple. In addition to already listed facts referring to Evora, it's necessary to say that this city is also dynamic student city in which lots of restaurants can be found.
Reply to this Thank you- I will definitely consider Evora as well then. Sounds very exciting! many thanks!
