Looking for recommendations for a hotel or hostel near the Simon Bolivar Airport in Guayaquil.
Hi there!
I am flying into Guayaquil in May, I am a 23 yr old woman and it will be my first time to South America, I will be traveling alone.
The first day is the hardest when traveling solo, so I am looking for a reliable and safe hotel or hostel near the Simon Bolivar Airport. I am willing to spend a little more on the first night just to ensure safety and comfort to help with initial culture shock. I am interested in staying near the Malecon, but I wonder if it would be smarter to keep it simple and get a room closer to the airport.
Either way, I would love to know exactly where I am going when I arrive so that I can easily get a taxi to take me there.
Does anyone have suggestions on a place to stay that would suite my circumstances? Any advice on getting a taxi? Helpful hints about that part of Guayaquil?
Thanks a lot!!
Ciao!
Reply to this Hey, if you stay near the Malecon you ll have to pay $4-5 for a taxi plus it is a bit more noisy and smoggy in the city center...
I recommend staying in the north of town near the airport cause there is some nice nightlife there and shopping around Mall del Sol.
Plus you can save on the taxis and sleep a bit safer. The city center is not so safe at night.
One Hotel I like near the airport is Hostal Murali, its just 2 blocks from the airport.
