Ok, so I know it is a bit late here, but fun just the same. Looking back, 2010 was a great year. I am very happy where I am mentally, emotionally, professionally, etc.
However, I dont know about you, but I never stop looking forward, and I anticipate an even more adventurous future. Reflecting on last year, I have resolved to take more chances. Health and safety considered, I want to just say yes to opportunities when they arrive.
Have you made any travel resolutions? Lets hear them!
Reply to this Not to do another big trip until I've paid off my credit cards and overdrafts, all of which are currently maxed out!
Reply to this I want to do an overland trip from SE Asia back to Scotland, I've got the money and time, I just need to get my head in gear to do it. :D
Reply to this My finances are in awful shape, so I won't be going on any big trips this year :-( My resolution is so explore Europe a bit more with my wife, maybe some weekend breaks in the autumn, places like Riga, Helsinki...
J.
Reply to this To learn words in the language of the place that I'm visiting so that I can say basic sentences. Then I will add language podcasts to my Ipod and review them while I'm on the plane!
Reply to this Ha ha, finances. Maxed out credit cards! Yup, two months to go on this trip and already deep in debt! So, couple years hard work when I get back with trips closer to home.
Reply to this I will try to avoid awkward situations such as gatecrashing wedding receptions or being teleported to cambodian brothels...or worse....
I will also
not pick fights with monkeys unless they start it first (which they always do)
I will not miss flights.
I will not get other people stuck in tunnels or in heroin dealers backyards.
So probably the opposite of your resolution Gabrielle :-)
Reply to this My travel resolution isn't really just for a year, but for life.
I want to go to each continent, Antartica included, before I die.
Reply to this To do more of it, travel more in general and at every opportunity. Can't seem to get enough.

Two years ago I made a resolution to save money so that I could take an extended trip and not have to worry too much about finances (of course there's always some degree of worrying). I'm happy to say January I'll be taking that trip.
I guess now I have a new resolution - to take my time on my next adventure, and not feel rushed that I have to be somewhere. The only place I'll have to be, is wherever I am, living in the moment.
Reply to this To put myself in a position where I can work on the road. This is currently the loftiest goal I can imagine for myself :-)
Also - I want to do an epic cycle trip.

Ah, resolutions, intentions
Enjoy today. Live in the present. Enjoy our surroundings and blog about them.
We are working and saving money to do a second extended trip---
We are resolute in our desire.
We are also looking to the future to determine how we can work outside of the United States. We have the fortitude to make this happen. Our goal is 2013 (2014 at the latest)
We agree with Nate about moving slowly and living in the moment.
Reply to this Resolution: To not get frustrated with language barriers or travel delays.
Reply to this Plan less, experience more. Be more flexible with flights/dates so we can make the most of our time. Also, less time + bigger budget is better than more time + tight budget. It's about quality not quantity.

Just a suggestion....you might look into working in hospitals in American military bases overseas. The US has bases almost everywhere (and some places they "don't have bases"). More and more essential jobs are being done by civilians and nurses are always needed everywhere.
Reply to this Looking at a possible motorcycle trip to Seattle. My fiances are not good either. But I do have most of my Christmas done early.
Reply to this I guess it would be to finally get around to renewing my passport which I let expire years ago. I plan on traveling extensively in Europe next year and will need it. Fortunately there are so many beautiful and interesting things to see and do in the US it hasn't been a problem for me.
