Im doing the trans-mongolian express next summer and whilst in Mongolia do a trip into the Gobi Desert.
As of yet its not something i've researched to a great extent so am looking for a little bit of help. Would anyone be able to tell me if it's better/cheaper etc to book in advance and where and how would one do that, or would it be something i could sort pretty easily once in Ulaan Baatar?
Ideally the cheapest way would be the best as im budget conscious but as i'm spending only a couple weeks in Mongolia i'd like to see it the best way i possible could.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Looking at spending 5-7 days there.
Cheers
Dan

Reply to this Hi Kris,
i was just wondering if tours were a better idea than trying to book whilst on the road, i dont need any operator information, just an idea of which is the best option.
Thanx
