I am traveling to Chile (Santiago) in April, and have heard some stories about Americans being required to give their fingerprints when they got to the airport. Is this true? I don't think this will deter my travel, but I would just like to know the procedures before I get there so I know what to expect.
Thanks!!!
Reply to this Absolute nonsense. Where did you hear that? Brazil required it a few years ago but has since dropped it.
Reply to this Dust In BRASIL THEY USED TO DO THAT FOR AMERICANS AND IS BECAUSE THE AMERICAN STARTED THAT WAY FOR BRAZILIAN IN CHILE NOTHING LIKE THAT IS HAPPENING.
Thanks
Reply to this Thanks Fiona and Klein!! I really appreciate you putting my fears to rest. I didn't even know that was going on in Brazil. This is my first time traveling to SA, and all my friends have been telling me horror stories about all the places they've traveled. You know, "Oh yeah, they take your picture and fingerprints and store it forever," that type of thing. Probably just messing with me though. It's good to hear the truth from people who I'm assuming live in the area or at least travel there quite often.
Thanks again, and please let me know if there is anything else I should be aware of...
