I have been backpacking for the last 5 months, I'm currently in Australia where I hoped to get my Japanese Encephalitus vaccine before starting my travels in Asia and India. After visiting a few medical centres I've been informed that the vaccine has in fact run out in Australia so there is no way I can get it here.

My first stop in Asia is Singapore, is it easy/possible for me to get the vaccine here? And will it be very expensive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you are intending to spend more than a month at a time in rural areas in Asia you dont really need it. I have never had a Japanese E vaccination for any visit to Asia. It is very rare for travellers to get Japanese E.

Reply to this i got mine in canada, i think it cost about 300 dollars, totally not worth it unless you intend on sleeping IN rice paddies for extended periods of time
Reply to this Thanks for the advice guys, this is what I wanted to hear. Hopefully our travel budget will be enough to allow us to afford hostels and not have to sleep in the rice fields!
Thanks again
